End of university

I've been a very blessed girl. Because of my career choice and the many opportunities provided, I was able to go through 3 very different universities and stay in 3 very different student hostels during my university journey. Counting my blessings tonight by recapping the 3 schools I've been in and my 3 cosy little rooms in the respective hostels! Really glad that I'm finally embarking on my career proper and moving home permanently after these 5 years, but I'm overwhelmed with emotions tonight too.  I know things are going to be very different from now on and I'll definitely miss the times as a student, but I'll be brave and positive and try my best to embrace what's in my way! :)

1) NUS // Sheares Hall

(one of my favourite study spots in NUS - UTown Starbucks)
(A516 - the room i stayed in during my 4 years in sheares :D)
(messy but cosy nest)
(missing the days when i could just open my door wide and disturb my neighbours)
(block A batchmates for 4 years <3)
(the biggest pillars of support during my entire university journey <3)

2) Tsinghua University, Beijing // International students hostel

(Tsinghua University, Autumn)
(Tsinghua University, Winter)
(messy table filled with letters to remind me of love back home)
(the room where i felt homesick so often, but these photos and letters were what kept me going)
(first day of snow in beijing in 2011)
(really miss the carefree days i had on exchange in beijing, also a place where i learnt so much about myself and learnt who will always be the friends who will be there for me :D)

3) NTU / NIE // Hall 8

(NIE was one of the most difficult periods during uni life, in my opinion, with the super duper heavy workload, but looking back, i'm glad i went through this journey because it has made me grown so much more stronger and independent)
(the day i crawled out of bed and reached school at 7 in the morning to study)
(lovely spacious room that i moved out from today! ><)

You get a strange feeling when you're about to leave a place. Like you'll not only miss the people you love but you'll miss the person you are now at this time and this place, because you'll never be this way every again. -Azar Nafisi

A Fairy Tale

A Fairy Tale

Start of spring;
heart in bloom;
our whisperings
in sunlit rooms.

Summer was felt
a little more;
in autumn I
began to fall.

When winter came
with all its white,
you were mine
to kiss good night.

Valentines Day 2014

When I found out that i have a free day from school on valentines day, i immediately decided to look for my dear friends on this special day because i dont know when i'll ever get a free valentines day again once work life starts for me! So here goes my little journey around singapore today to look for my dear and loved ones :):)

(A) Meetup with huichun, my lovely sogirl :):)

(B) Date with lover <3
I know my dear lover is really stressed for her final year medicine exams and hardly have any time to rest at all while studying, so i decided to surprise her with her favourite rilakumma on sandwiches! ^^ really short meetup today, but so filled with love!
(lover, if you are reading this, i'll always remember what we promised each other! old and wrinkly!)

(C) Back to sheares hall - block A auntie and auntie betty :)
Moved out of sheares hall for more than half a year already, but sheares hall will always take up a huge  part in my heart. Really miss sheares hall terribly, but more than that, i miss the people who made my 4 years stay there so memorable :') so, how can i not go back to sheares hall on vday!
my first two stops were to look for my block A auntie and auntie betty :)
i think i gave block A auntie a shock when i passed her a red packet hehe but i could see how happy she was after she hugged me and that really made my day :D
(D) Back to sheares hall - With my favourite pet, theodore :)
this girl never fails to make me smile and feel all warm and fuzzy inside whenever we meet up and catch up :D cant wait for our jap feast date soon! <3
(E) Back to sheares hall - marilyn <3
Felt terrible waking her up from her sleep when she has been so sleep deprived, but how can i not visit my dearest junior on such a special day! hehe :) we need a proper date another day!

(F) Back to sheares hall - meetup with xinlin! (who's super tall >< HAHA) :D
(G) Date at d'good cafe with amanda <3
I love how the both of us always have endless things in the world to talk about whenever we meet up, we couldn't stop talking the moment we saw each other :)
It's really amazing how close we've become although we only worked at sogurt for a few times before!
And today is our first valentines day together!! :):) so much love!

(H) Dinner with Vincent!
(know you'll be reading this space, thank you sooo much for the thoughtful gifts! :)
i really appreciate them!! :D)

(I) Really really cant wait for the staycation this weekend hehe ^^
Been counting down to it for the longest time!! Fullerton, here i comeeeeeee!

Though tiring, I'm really glad i spent my last valentines day as a student this way - spending time with my dearest friends :) Here's ending off by wishing all of you a happy valentines day and a line that i came across and fell in love with - the earth laughs in flowers <3

Chinese New Year 2014

除夕

Having stayed in school for close to five years, i always look forward to long breaks back at home because that meant quality time with my mum and the ability to enjoy the comfort of home. This cny break has been one of my longest cny breaks and i really treasured the simple break back at home. Spent cny eve reorganising my things in my room because i'm moving back home permanently (finally!) and of course, enjoying comfort food (i can have green tea latte at home now too with the new instant green tea latte packet sold in muji now :D) Loving the sandwich jelly (my fav cny snack!) that kaya surprised me with when he visited me in school the other day too! I remember how he used to surprise me with these colourful candies in jars everytime it's near cny when we were still staying in sheares :) was soooo happy when he whipped them out of his bag the other day!

初一 and 初二

Chinese New Year has always been a simple affair for my family because most of our relatives live in either Taiwan or Australia, so we dont have much visiting to do. However, mummy and i agreed we should still dress up to get into the festive mood,  hence the "ootd" shots (HAHA)! Something i would like to remember: it's the first year i'm giving red packets to both my parents as a working adult :) i know most people only start giving red packets to their parents when they get married, but my sister and i decided it would be nice to start giving them once we start earning money! Nothing beats seeing the surprised faces of my parents when I gave them the red packets after breakfast :)

初三 Part 1

It has always been a tradition of my chinese orchestra friends and i to gather every chinese new year :) Back in junior college, we would literally travel around the whole of singapore just to visit every single person's houses! We only had a simple lunch together this year to save us from the hassle of travelling etc, but i still had a good time catching up with everyone :) It's heartwarming too, seeing our group grow bigger and bigger over the years, with the boys growing up and bringing their other halves to our gatherings! Thought this was a super nice photo to mark our 10th year of friendship (we had to sneak into the cage because the playground was meant for children between the ages of 6-12 years old ><)!

初三 Part 2

Fifth chinese new year kaya and i are visiting each other's places! I feel extremely blessed to be able to visit kaya's every chinese new year because his family always treats me as one of them and i always have so much fun helping out at dinner every time i'm at his house! Not forgetting the huge and yummy spread of food i always get to enjoy at his place every cny and i especially love how his family would take a family photo every year! Was just looking back at the photos we took the previous years the other day and i realised the both of us changed quite alot over the years! :) I'm really glad I got to spend some with kaya's grandfather and grandmother this chinese new year too.. i love both of them so much! (the pearl necklace i wore is my very first pearl necklace and it was a gift from kaya's grandfather when he went overseas for holiday. he was so, so happy seeing me wear it, he took lots of pictures with me that night! so happy seeing his grandfather smile so much :D) brought kaya's grandmother to sing karoke this cny too and it was so much fun! was afraid it might be slightly awkward, but i had a really good time :) (captured a picture of kaya singing to the song he sent me on a skype date when i was studying back in beijing and it reminded me of how the both of us were tearing that skype session ><) looking forward to the annual gathering with kaya's secondary school friends on 初五!

Here's wishing everyone a happy year of the horse! :):)
