Goodbye King Albert Park Macs!

10 reasons why I'll miss KAP so much

So, tomorrow (16th March 2014) would officially be the last day of operations for the Macdonald's outlet at King Albert Park (KAP) after 23 years (almost the same age as me!). Like many people, KAP is a place which holds lots of fond memories for me, especially since it was a place where I grew up in. This is why I thought I'd dedicate a blogpost to this importance place before it disappears completely after tomorrow.

1) KAP was literally the place I grew up in. I remember coming here almost every other week as a child, and getting fascinated by the trains running on the tracks that used to be on the ceilings and playing in the ball pits filled with coloured balls after meals with my parents.

2) The party room at KAP Macdonald's was also where I had my very first birthday party in primary school - Primary 1! I remember how my mum specially bought a princess outfit for me for this birthday party, and I can still remember details of the birthday party - like the big ronald macdonald's cake that was provided, the happy meal goodie bags that were given out to my childhood friends and the silly games we played while wearing the macdonald's hats in the party room hehe ><

3) Sunday breakfasts and drive throughs for supper with my family

4) Nanyang days - KAP was a place where I shared fond memories with my girlfriends too..I remember spending Valentine's Day with my girlfriends one year and all of us ending up in tears because of a 'deep' talk we had HAHA

5) Nanyang days - having grown up in schools that were located near KAP, it was easily the place we would choose whenever we wanted to meet for study dates etc! I remember visiting KAP on weekends so often with Sharon to camp and study the entire day there, filling up many many notebooks with notes we'll make while studying.

6) Cold Storage - while studying, I remember going down the Cold Storage to sneak up sweets and snacks to munch on too. HEHE especially loved the japanese sweets corner..all the pretty packaging! *swoons*

7) Hwachong days - KAP was also the place where my HCCO (chinese orchestra) mates and I would often gather till late after co practices too. We used to go there in big groups and would take up a huge space in the middle of the second level, and because there were so many of us, we had to split into a few tables, and I would jump from table to table to talk with my co mates :):)

8) Guess what? :) KAP was also the first place kaya and i had a date when we first got together! ^^

9) Forged new memories with an important friend, Amanda at KAP too! :) Specially woke up to have macs breakfast with this special girl on christmas morning last year and took lots of pictures with the iconic figurines leading up to the second level :):)

10) Lastly, KAP was also the place I treat my parents after getting my first official pay! :):) Though simple, it felt really nice being able to treat my parents to breakfast at a place where they used to bring me when i was young :')

Really really saddened at the thought that KAP Macdonald's would no longer be around very soon, I got Kaya to bring me back one last time yesterday night to take one last picture with Hamburglar.
Thank you for rushing down on a Friday night just to bring me back :)

Goodbye KAP! I'll miss you! :'(
